Ironically, I have begun this blog on the day we sign a lease to rent a cottage for 3 months. Prior to this, my partner, Dylan, and I have been modern day gypsies. While I slept on my parents futon for a year, he house-sat a beautiful home in Toronto. Then I moved to live at various outdoor education centres while he moved to living in the school house that he was (and still is) renovating. We then came together to live at my parents’ home in Collingwood for a few weeks. Then we house-sat a country home in Markdale for a month, farm-sat for a week, and now we are actually going to pay to live somewhere. For an entire summer we kept most of our belongings in our vehicles, making frequent trips to the car for shoes, a particular sweater, spices etc. Rent free. This blog is our expression of our adventures being rather nomadic while living locally wherever we land. As balanced, sustainable hipsies, it will evolve as a spot for creative writing, blogging, recipe sharing, DIY remedies and likely whatever balances us out.
